When society is willing to give up individual liberties under the guise of safety, the blank check given to the government starts a process toward the lessening of freedom. Freedom should stay intact regardless of temporary conditions. Freedom is a precious gift that does not come from the government, but is a gift from God.
The Declaration of Independence states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...”
